Keeping cool

The cool of the early morning was very welcome at the weekly @BNIWoking Zoom meeting ahead of another working day in the 2020 #heatwave.

Certainly, it’s not been much fun for Andy Dunn of #CleanlineInstallations installing cabling at a state-of-the-art recycling plant in high viz and protection gear. Although #locksmith James Parker has had an unexpected number of callouts to clients opening more windows due to the heat and discovering window lock problems.

Inevitably though the knock-on effect of the coronavirus continues to be a factor on businesses in the group. PR consultant @CarolMMedia, highlighted positive attitude as a core value of membership and said: “In networking you really value positive, supportive people. So when I feared that I wouldn’t be able to renew my membership because of the impact of COVID-19, it meant a lot to me that so many of the group were really supportive and helpful.

“Thanks to the team, I’ve overcome my hesitancy about adding social media support to my workstream. It’s been a really positive move for my business and I’ve been able to renew my BNI membership.”

Meanwhile, in property, post lockdown, it’s never been busier from Anton Botha’s #MultiProp #PropertyMaintenance to #WinserCharteredSurveyor. Chris Winser, updating the group said: “The market has gone berserk!”

For Daniel Donoghue life has taken a switch, emerging as an independent #healthinsurance consultant. His decades of experience enable him to continue in his field despite the hard knock the pandemic has given to his previous employers. He welcomes the “more holistic approach to health insurance I can now offer my clients”.
