Golden opportunity

I tend to try to avoid the “me” word in our blogs but this week I knew that @BNIWoking had just handed me a golden marketing opportunity and was very aware that of all people the one with PR & Communications business should not mess it up.

But here’s the thing, thanks to lots of very positive messages ahead of the weekly Zoom #networking meeting I felt quite excited that it was my turn to provide the 10-minute showcase slot – especially because we were joined by four new visitors, including a BNI member calling in from @BNIProsperUs #Johannesburg South Africa.

We were also happy to welcome William Taylor of #StedmanConsulting, part of @CylexUK, Tara Morris, of @abstract_pd, and IT specialist Chris Notley.

The sincere support this group of diverse professionals gives, even though they all are busy running very successful businesses, is above and beyond any other networking group I have been a part of – invaluable when you are one of the tens of thousands of SMEs in the South East.

Businesses bucking the trend

The weekly report once again showed that despite all the challenges the coronavirus has thrown at us business in #Woking is continually picking up after a slight dip when a number of the chapter took staycation breaks over the summer.

Referrals also showed a steady upward trend, particularly for members in the property, maintenance and building sectors.

Meanwhile, despite gloom about the continuing impact of COVID-19, we all enjoy the chance to see the lighter side of life, so there was a round of applause for @antonmultiprop modelling one of the logoed face masks and looking very natty. In fact, Anton was delighted to report back on this simple addition visibly reassured clients.
